Jeffrey Hannan is a San Francisco writer who lives part-time on the Big Island of Hawaii, in the Puna District, near a wild west sort of town called Pahoa.
Our small white house on a hill overlooking lower Puna was the inspiration for The Punatics, my second novel, which I decided to publish online in weekly installments – as I write it.
My first novel, HugoSF, was published in late 2012. Like the red-golden towers of the Golden Gate, it spans the peak of the first internet Boom, through the Bust and recession, then up the incline of the real estate boom. A cautionary tale of truth, work and economics, HugoSF tells the story of Hugo Storm, a GenXer living through an America in transition and asking the perennial question: What in the hell am I doing?
