The storm that never was

Felicia tried to give the Big Island a soaking and high surf, but she fell short. All the press coverage and “Hurricane Specials” in the hardware and grocery stores were ultimately only cautionary. A number of people have said that in all the years they’ve been here no hurricane has ever hit the Big Island; they tend to fizzle out once they near the land mass.

Still there were a few good waves with Felicia. Here’s one from the east coast of the island:
